The Organizing Committee of the 13th International Mine Ventilation Congress (IMVC 2026) is pleased to announce that registration for the IMVC 2026 Technical Field Trips is now open. Designed to complement the Congress technical program, the field trips provide delegates with the opportunity to gain first-hand experience of Indonesia's mining, transportation, and industrial infrastructure through exclusive technical visits and guided tours.
Participants may choose from three unique field trip options:
1. Tunnel Ventilation System MRT Jakarta
Discover the operations behind Indonesia's first modern urban rail system through a technical visit to the MRT Jakarta Headquarters and Operations Control Center at the Lebak Bulus Depot. Participants will explore train inspection facilities, maintenance workshops, operational technologies, and, subject to availability, an optional evening visit to the MRT Phase 1 underground tunnel.
2. Tembagapura Underground Copper Mines, DMLZ & GBC
Experience one of the world's largest mining operations through an exclusive visit to PT Freeport Indonesia. This technical visit offers participants valuable insights into large-scale underground mining operations, mining infrastructure, and operational excellence at one of Indonesia's flagship mining projects.
3. Sawahlunto Underground Coal Mining Historical Trip
Explore Sawahlunto, Indonesia's only UNESCO World Heritage Site representing underground coal mining heritage. This educational tour introduces participants to the city's historic mining facilities, museums, and cultural landmarks while showcasing the rich history and legacy of underground mining in Indonesia.
